8x3

I am the umbrella term
now taken gracious and stark-
at Kronos invitation
flunked and delayed
teasing boredom-
under cotton sheet boundaries
my mind lists and resonates
a flirtation with my skies contusion..
take me to the sun are they waiting?
take me to my son in shade playing-
Am I still your archangel in department store hide in seek sessions?
there are still watts in me...
listen over manila folder masses
to pre-legal pentecostal prayers
like a ferocious library session.
can you hear the killer?
life as a blight plant
queasy cactus- you cant touch
afraid to lose it
heaving cornflake kisses and baseball carbs
eased to the floor
blood beads and tie dye tears
bar codes and chemo burns
priority becomes unlikely
preliminaries to releave the dog of its bark
cut off the circulation this time-
of fat cells mating
hearing I love yous while I'm drug taking
reassemble me- don't let me melt
smelling all these allergies...
lose your mind,
to no longer be afraid to lose.

This is fucking beautiful.
I love every line.
To no longer be afraid to lose sounds beyond brave. This poem is at turns tender and nostalgic then ethereal and brutal.
One of your best by far. The title is great. Might be my new favorite.
Preliminaries to relieve the dog of its bark. Your pen is still sharp seems like you haven't even approached the peak of your powers, exhilarating, no? To know you can still surprise yourself.
